Website Privacy Policy

V2M Inc. · v2minc.com · Last updated: 13 October 2026

In short

This website does not use analytics, advertising or social-media trackers, does not set cookies to track you, and does not build profiles of visitors. We do not sell, rent or share personal information with anyone for their own purposes.

If you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address is held by Buttondown, our email service provider, on our behalf; V2M does not keep a separate subscriber database of its own. If you write to us through a contact form, your message is delivered to our company mailbox, and that is where it stays.

The only third-party services this website uses are Google reCAPTCHA, which protects our forms against spam, and videos embedded from YouTube. Both are described below. Questions and requests: info@v2minc.com.

1. About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how V2M Inc. (“V2M”, “we”, “us”) processes personal information through v2minc.com, including our contact forms and email newsletter. V2M Inc. is responsible for the processing described in this policy.

This policy covers the website only. The V2M One mobile application and the V2M diagnostic service are covered by a separate App Privacy Policy, available at v2minc.com/privacy-policy.html.

2. Information we process

Contact forms and enquiries. When you contact us, we process the information you provide: your name, email address, company and message. Form submissions are delivered to our company email account and may be retained as correspondence. Submitting a contact form does not subscribe you to our newsletter.

Newsletter subscriptions. When you subscribe, our website forwards your email address to Buttondown, which manages our subscriber list, sends the confirmation message and delivers the newsletter. We do not ask for anything other than an email address.

Technical information. Requests to our website include technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. Our hosting and security infrastructure processes this information to deliver the website and to prevent abuse. It is kept in server logs for a short period and is not used to identify or track individual visitors.

What we do not collect. We do not use web analytics, advertising pixels, session-recording tools, chat widgets or social-media plug-ins. We do not collect precise location, payment details or any sensitive information through this website, and we do not knowingly collect information from children (see section 10).

Providing information through our forms is voluntary. We need your email address only to deliver the newsletter you request or to reply to your enquiry.

3. How and why we use information

Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • your consent, to send the email updates you request;
  • our legitimate interests, to respond to enquiries, operate the website and protect it against spam and abuse;
  • steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, where an enquiry concerns a potential purchase or service;
  • legal obligations, where we must retain or disclose information to comply with applicable law.

We do not use personal information for automated decision-making or profiling.

4. Email newsletter

We use Buttondown (Buttondown, LLC, Richmond, Virginia, USA) to manage newsletter subscriptions and to send product developments, engineering stories and company news.

Our subscription form sends your email address to Buttondown. We use email confirmation (double opt-in): you receive a confirmation message and are subscribed only after you confirm. Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted.

Our newsletter emails do not contain open- or click-tracking.

You can withdraw your consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email or by writing to info@v2minc.com. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. After you unsubscribe, your record is kept marked as unsubscribed so that we do not email you again; you can ask us to delete it entirely.

Buttondown processes subscriber information on our behalf under a Data Processing Agreement. Buttondown’s Privacy Policy: buttondown.com/legal/privacy. Data Processing Agreement: buttondown.com/legal/data-processing-agreement.

5. Cookies, spam protection and embedded content

Cookies. This website does not use cookies for analytics or advertising, and we do not use a cookie banner because we set no cookies that require consent. One functional first-party cookie, v2m-sendform, is set when you submit a contact form; it records the result of your submission so that the page can show you a confirmation and expires shortly afterwards. Third-party services described below may set their own cookies.

Google reCAPTCHA. Our contact and newsletter forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA (Google LLC), which helps us tell people from automated submissions. When a page with a form loads reCAPTCHA, Google receives technical information such as your IP address, browser information and your interaction with the reCAPTCHA widget, and may set cookies on Google’s domain. This processing is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy) and Terms of Service (policies.google.com/terms). We do not receive any personal information from reCAPTCHA other than the result of the check.

Embedded videos. Our website embeds videos hosted on YouTube (Google LLC). Loading or playing an embedded video sends technical information to Google and may set YouTube cookies, under Google’s Privacy Policy.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Because we do not track visitors or sell or share personal information, there is nothing to opt out of; browser signals such as Global Privacy Control are honoured by default.

6. Service providers and other disclosures

Information is processed by the service providers involved in delivering our website and communications:

  • Buttondown, LLC, for newsletter subscriptions and email delivery;
  • Google LLC, for reCAPTCHA spam protection and embedded YouTube videos;
  • our business email provider, for receiving and answering enquiries;
  • our web hosting provider, for operating the website and its server logs.

These providers act on our instructions and may not use the information for their own purposes.

We may also disclose information where required by law, where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, or, if V2M is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, to the successor business, which will remain bound by this policy.

7. International processing

V2M is based in the United States. Information submitted through our website is processed in the United States and in other countries where our providers operate. Where the GDPR applies, transfers to our providers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses included in their data processing agreements or by other safeguards recognised under applicable law. You can contact us for information about the safeguards that apply to your information.

8. How long we keep information

  • Newsletter subscribers: for as long as you remain subscribed. Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after 30 days. After you unsubscribe, your record is kept marked as unsubscribed so that we do not contact you again, unless you ask us to delete it.
  • Contact enquiries: for 24 months after our last exchange, or for as long as needed if the enquiry leads to a contract or is relevant to a legal claim.
  • Server logs: for a short period, as needed for security and troubleshooting.

Unsubscribing stops newsletter delivery; it does not by itself delete other records. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (section 9).

9. Your privacy rights

Depending on the law applicable to you, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. You may object to the use of your personal information for direct marketing at any time.

If you are a resident of California or another U.S. state with a consumer privacy law: we do not sell or share personal information, we do not use it for targeted advertising, and we do not collect sensitive personal information through this website. You may still ask us to confirm, correct or delete the information we hold about you, and we will not treat you differently for exercising your rights. An authorised agent may make a request on your behalf.

To make a request, email info@v2minc.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law.

Where applicable, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, including the authority in the EEA country or the UK where you live or work.

10. Children

This website is intended for businesses and adults. It is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information described in this policy, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access restricted to the people who need it, and reputable providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our website or data practices change. The latest version will appear on this page with an updated date. Where required, we will provide additional notice.
